Jeans
Last week I discussed the importance of having the perfect Little Black Dress. Equally important is having the perfect pair of jeans. $150 may seem like a lot to spend on denim, but a well made pair of jeans can do wonders for your body. These jeans should be your go-to item in you closet. They should show off your body and make you feel your best. Finding the right style for your body is important. There are a variety of styles available:
1. Skinny Jeans

Forever 21 * True Religion * Tory Burch
Skinny Jeans are best for those with a very slim frame. Anyone with hips wants to avoid skinny jeans, or atleast wear them with caution. Skinny jeans can help create the appearance of hips, which is great for those with strait figures, but not so ideal for those who already have them.
2. Boot Cut

J Brand * Rich and Skinny * Rock and Republic
Boot Cut jeans are known as the universal jean. They look great on everyone, can be dressed up or down, and are always in style. A boot cut jean means that the ankle is just slightly wider than the knee of the jeans.
3. Trouser Jeans

Anlo * 7 by All Mankind * Rag and Bone
Trouser style jeans are a very slimming cut. The jeans are the same width from the thigh all the way to the ankle, creating a long and lean line. These are also a more dressy style of jean, and can be worn for nicer occasions that some of the other styles.

I have been anxiously awaiting the premier of Project Runway Season 6! I have had many questions running through my head: Will it ever premier? Will it be as good on Lifetime as it was on Bravo? What day will it be on?
Well, lucky for me, after I had given up all hope completely, I decided to flip through some channels last night. . .just in time to see the new season starting! So how did it measure up?

The 1st episode left a lot to be desired. . .although creating a red carpet dress can be interesting, I wish there had been some sort of unexpected twist. What could have made the 1st episode at least slightly more interesting would be if they were creating the dress for guest judge Lindsey Lohan, of course that would mean she would have a red carpet appearance in the near future. But with her failing career that seems rather unlikely. I hope to see some wacky challenges, such as the grocery store challenge, in the near future.

It is also too early on to pick a favorite contestant. I was excited to see Georgia native, Mitchell Hall, but was extremely dissapointed in his disaster of a gown. I give him props for not giving up after the original dress didn't work out, however, I wasn't wild about that dress either. I do hold out some hope for him in future shows though, as his design was at least unique, even if not on point. He will either prove to be innovative, or prove to has no style what-so-ever. It will be a wait and see.

The August issue of EF Magazine tells us that Strong Shoulders are a trend of the season. I couldn't agree more, and think this trend will continue well into 2010! Strong shoulders are flattering for a variety of reasons. The most obvious benefit comes to those who suffer from small shoulders. Shoulder pads may have been a thing of the 80's, but they are being re-invented in this futuristic take on the look. Everything from blazers, to shirts to dresses are taking on a form of strong shoulders. Strong shoulders also benefit those with a boyish figure, or those with a large waist. The added emphasis on the shoulders created more curves, and gives the illusion of a narrower waist, when compared to shoulders. Check out some of my favorite finds below. 1. Balmain 2. Malene Birger 3. Milly 4. Max Studio 5. Torn by Ronny Kobo

Little Black Dress! (LBD) An LBD is must have for every womans wardrobe. The ideal LBD is that go-to, good-for-any-occasion, make you look and feel fabulous - dress. With a few accessory changes your little black dress should be able to take you from the office, to cocktails. Although you want your LBD to have a classic shape that is perfect for any event, you also want it to have some unique detailing that will make you stand out in a crowd. Below are a few of my favorite LBD's, available now! Black Halo, www.shopbop.com The sexy cut out in this dress makes is a great one for night. Make this work appropriate by adding a cami under the dress and throwing on a blazer or colorful cardigan. Banana Republic Dress This wrap inspired dress is a universally flattering cut by defining the waist, and fitting loosly through the hips. Add some jewelry and amazing shoes to take this from day to night. Laila Azhar www.revolveclothing.com Kirribilla Dress www.edressme.com My personal favorite, this dress is the definition of a little black dress. An extremely classic cut, ruffle detailing at the pockets and around the neck add that unique element that make this dress stand out. Unseen in the photo is the low scoop back of the dress that continues the ruffle trim. Maggy London, www.nordstroms.com Show of gorgeous curves in the hip hugging little black dress. A flattering cut, the waist detailing help add interest to an otherwise plain dress. Which dress is your favorite?? Or do you have another one that you are lusting after?

The struggling economy has made this Sale Season one of the best! It is a great time to score some fantastic finds at a fraction of the price! Follow Fefe's Tips to Shopping a Sale in order to make the most of this sale season! Fefe's Tips to Shopping a Sale Here are a few tips to help make your shopping trip a little easier from parking to checking out:
1. Wear comfortable clothes: Now I'm not talking about showing up in a track suit. But some nice flats or sandals, loose fitting jeans or a cotton dress will make your trip much more enjoyable.
2. Pack a snack: The food court will be a zoo during sale season, so be sure to pack a protein bar to hold off any hunger pains! Also be sure to pack a bottle of water to stay hydrated in the crowded stores!
5. Remain Calm: Don't get overwhelmed by crowded stores and messy racks. Take your time and tune out the crowds. Also, don't be discouraged by long lines for the fitting room or cash register. They tend to move pretty quick.
6. Website shop: check out websites of stores before you shop to get an idea of some items you might be looking for!
7. Don't get sucked in: Don't buy something just because it is on sale. If it is something you have been waiting to go on sale, buy it. Otherwise stick to items that you can wear now as well as into Fall.
8. Know upcoming trends: By knowing what will be popular next season you can score some great sale items that you can wear longer. Check EF Magazine to find out what will be in this Fall!

Recently, Fashion Editor Lauryn Prattes received a hair makeover from Master Stylist Daniel Jones of Muse Salon and Spa. Daniel is featured in the August Issue of EF Magazine. Watch the video below, and then I'm going to let Lauryn tell you all about her experience! If you want fabulous hair like Lauryn's, be sure to visit Muse Salon!
Thanks Fefe!
Never ever have I given a hair stylist free reign to do as he pleased with my hair. Having cut it short just a few times, my hair has been long for most of my life, and I like it that way. Typically when I sit in a stylists chair they are giddy with excitement, encouraging me to chop it all off – to which I reply, “maybe just an inch at the bottom.”
After hearing Daniel Jones’ interview for the magazine, I knew that if I was going to give someone free reign on my head, it would be him. I was put at ease even more as I sat in his chair, expecting the typical, “off with your hair” speech. Instead Daniel told me he wanted to leave my hair long, using the words beautiful and sexy to describe the impending hair cut. Breathing a sigh of relief, I knew I was in good hands.
Although seeing chunks of hair fall to the floor was rather stressful, Daniel was so confident that the outcome would be fabulous, that I couldn’t help but find myself beginning to get excited. His assistant whisked me away to the hair washing station and applied a color boosting glaze to my head. After returning to Daniels chair, even with wet hair I could see the fabulous change that had taken place.
After I was blow dried Daniel took one last look, diving in with his scissors to skillfully sculpt my hair to perfection. Once he was finished he spun me around to see his masterpiece.
The end result was beautiful long locks. The glaze that he put on my hair boosted my natural color to a rich brown full of shine. The cut itself was by far the best I’ve ever had. Long hair tends to get thin at the ends, but the way Daniel cut my hair left it thick all the way down. I was so pleased with the end result that I made an appointment for my next cut on the way out the door…something I have never done before.

We all have those days. . .you know, the ones where you just can't fit into your beloved skinny jeans. Maybe it was due to that second serving of cake you had the night before, or maybe hormones are to blame. Whatever the reason, some days, our jeans just don't fit. Well, Rag & Bone has come up with a solution to this delima: zipper skinny jeans.

The back of each leg features a zipper that can unzip from the calf to the knee, and again from mid-thigh to the knee, expanding your jeans by inches when you need the extra room. The idea certainly is appealing, but are the jeans? Although I think they certainly have a cool look to them, I'm not sure how much I want everyone to know that I couldn't fit into my jeans one day. Furthermore, the zippers draw the eye strait to your problem areas.
Perhaps if Rag & Bone were to come out with a darker pair of jeans, with slightly less contrast I would pick up a pair. The price tag is nothing to laugh at either, at $287.40 down from $479, these jeans better make me look like I'm losing weight instead of gaining it!

Everywhere you turn you hear it: the word recession. So it may be true, the economy has taken a bit of a downturn. Maybe you aren't shopping as much as your once were, or aren't buying as frivoulously. However, is the answer to start buying cheaper items, or to just buy less of the expensive ones? While I love a good bargain, I have found that forking over a little more cash for an item is usally worth it when it comes to quality and wearability. That said, now is not the time to be buying expensive items that you will only get one use out of. I found a D&G skirt on net-a-porter.com that I just love, but with the price tag of $450 I wasn't sure if it was worth the price. Using Polyvore I was able to create 3 totally different outfits around the one skirt. . .making it work for work, night, or a casual afternoon! Proving the versatility of the skirt, I can now justify spending the extra money for something that I really love, and that really makes a statement!
